Fees & Payments
Our approach to private pay
The Life Empowerment Center (TLEC) is a private pay practice, which means we do not accept insurance, including Medicaid and Medicare. We believe this model allows us to offer you the highest quality of care — free from insurance-mandated limitations on session frequency, treatment length, or diagnosis requirements. Your care is guided entirely by your needs and goals, not by what an insurance company will approve.
Session fees
Fees vary by provider. If you are unsure which clinician is the right fit for you, we are happy to help during your free consultation.

Good Faith Estimate
As a private pay practice, we are required by federal law to provide all clients with a Good Faith Estimate of expected costs before services begin. You will receive your written estimate prior to your first appointment. You may also request one at any time.
Questions About Fees?
We know that cost is an important consideration when choosing a therapist. If you have questions about our fees or payment process, please don't hesitate to reach out — we are happy to discuss this during your free consultation.
Jennifer Walsh, LPC-Associate
Licensed Professional Counselor — Associate, supervised by James Ochoa, LPC-S
About LPC-Associates: In Texas, an LPC-Associate is a fully licensed counselor completing their hours toward independent licensure under the supervision of an LPC-Supervisor. Sessions are clinically supervised and the lower fee reflects this stage of licensure — not a difference in the quality of care you receive.
Fees are reviewed annually. You will be notified in advance of any changes.
Payment
Payment is due in full at the time of each session. We accept the following:
Credit and debit card
Health Savings Account (HSA) card
Flexible Spending Account (FSA) card
A credit or debit card is required to be kept on file prior to your first appointment.
Cancellation Policy
We ask that you provide advance notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, based on the following:
Monday appointments — 48 hours notice required (by end of business Friday)
Tuesday – Friday appointments — 24 hours notice required
Cancellations made with less than the required notice, or missed appointments without notice, will be charged the full session fee.
We understand that emergencies happen. Late cancellation fees may be waived at our discretion in the case of a genuine emergency.
Using Insurance
While we do not bill insurance directly, some clients choose to submit for reimbursement on their own if their plan includes out-of-network mental health benefits. If you would like to pursue this, we can provide you with a superbill — a detailed receipt containing the service and diagnosis codes your insurance company requires — which you can submit directly to your insurer.
We cannot guarantee reimbursement and recommend contacting your insurance company in advance to understand your out-of-network benefits. We are happy to answer questions about this process during your consultation.
